Polished abalone shell shimmers with blues, greens and purples in this small square cabochon. It measures about 14 by 14 millimeters, a versatile size for rings, earrings and pendants.

Set it in a 14 millimeter square bezel, glue it onto ear posts or ring blanks, or use it as an inlay in crafts and boxes. Choose 1, 5 or 10; larger packs lower the price per piece and make it easy to create matching sets.

Abalone is shell, so keep it away from perfume, lotions and harsh cleaners, and wipe it with a soft, dry cloth. Each square shows its own iridescent pattern.

About Mother of Pearl

Mother of pearl, or nacre, is the iridescent inner layer of certain mollusk shells, including pearl oysters, freshwater mussels and abalone. It is built from microscopic aragonite platelets that interfere with light to create its rainbow shimmer, and it is often tinted to other colors.
